SHOULD THE PEOPLE THAT REPRESENT YOU BE SO OUT OF TOUCH WITH YOU?
MPs earn over £80,000 per year as a member of parliament. That's without the average expense claim which comes in at around £210,000 per MP.
The average salary in the UK at the time of writing is just £24,600 without any additional expenses, investments or second homes in London.
Is it not time for our MPs to live under the conditions they set for us. For their expenses to be limited and justified?
I truly believe that by limiting the salaries and incomes of MPs as well as their access to luxuries, expense claims and first class travel will certainly save the country a lot more money than no longer prescribing paracetamol on the NHS to save £53 million.
